ErdanKayupovDr. Erdan Kayupov has won multiple awards due to the contributions he made while a research fellow at Rush. The 2016 James A. Rand Young Investigator’s Award was given for “A Randomized Controlled Trial of Oral and Intravenous Tranexamic Acid in Total Knee Arthroplasty: The Same Efficacy at Lower Cost?” and the 2017 Mark Coventry Award was given for “Oral Antibiotics Reduce Reinfection After Two-Stage Exchange: A Multicenter, Randomized Controlled Trial.” Erdan clearly appreciates the opportunities that this year offered. “Dr. Della Valle’s research fellowship provided me with the unique opportunity to explore many aspects of academic medicine and clinical research that I would have otherwise never seen had I not done a dedicated research year. Having helped to develop, coordinate, and run several multicenter trials during the year, I feel confident that I can take my newfound skills and apply them to my own future research projects. I’m very thankful for the valuable mentorship and guidance I received from Dr. Della Valle, and would highly recommend this fellowship for anyone interested in academic medicine and doing high level clinical research.” Erdan is pictured at the 2015 AAHKS meeting presenting a study of the relationship between hypoalbuminemia and postoperative complications.
