Cindy Nahhas
2018-19
During her time as a research fellow, Cindy had the opportunity to design, coordinate, and publish multiple clinical studies. She spoke on the podium at national conferences and was awarded the Winter 2019 CCJR/ OREF Clinical Practice Award for “A Randomized Trial of Static and Articulating Spacers for the Infected TKA.” This paper, as well as one entitled, “Impacting the Disposal of Unused Opioid Analgesics through Education in the Orthopaedic Population: A Cluster Randomized Control Trial” were both accepted for publication in the prestigious Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. “Dedicating a year to the research fellowship with Dr. Della Valle and Dr. Nam gave me the opportunity to develop my skills as a researcher, and I now feel confident carrying out a clinical study from start to finish. In addition, the mentorship I received from Dr. Della Valle and Dr. Nam was invaluable, and helped me to develop as a person and as a future physician.”
