Recent changes to Medicare for Dr. Della Valle

As of April 1, 2020, Dr. Della Valle is no longer a participating physician with Medicare.

What does this mean? For all established patients who had surgery with Dr. Della Valle, your continued care is of the upmost importance to our practice. You will be asked to sign a contract at your next visit that states Dr. Della Valle can no longer bill Medicare for any of his services, which means he writes off your office visits. In addition, you will be asked to pay a one-time $20 copay, which covers all future visits for your hips or knees with Dr. Della Valle. If you have a non-replaced joint that you wish to be evaluated, please let the office know at the time of scheduling.

New Patients, Dr. Della Valle welcomes all patients to come in for a consult of your hip or knee. New patient consults cost $100 which would be applied to your surgical payment if you decide to move forward with surgical intervention.

X-rays will still be covered by your insurance (Medicare) as they are billed through Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, a contracted entity with Medicare.

If surgery is suggested for your hip or knee after consulting with Dr. Della Valle, we can discuss payment options at that time. All other costs associated with surgery such as the hospital, outpatient surgery centers, physical therapy, pre-operative testing, prescribed medications and x-rays, will all be billed through your insurance. The only cost to the patient out of pocket is Dr. Della Valle’s professional surgical fee.
